NEET2018: Is NEET Mandatory for Ayush Admission?

Admissions to all Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) undergraduate courses across all states will be through NEET from 2018 onward, a notification on the official website of the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) was confirmed.Now the high court raises a question to supreme court on Tuesday regarding the importance of NEET result to get admitted into Ayush course.

Wednesday is the day to fix the notification. Generally, Ayush admissions include Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, and Naturopathy among others. The ministry has stated that it observed that several states have issued notification for counselling regarding admission to Ayush UG courses but are not fully adopting the NEET notification regarding the merit list and qualifying criteria.

A vacation bench of Justice AR Masoodi passed the above order on a writ petition where it is pleaded that as per CBSE notification, NEET was supposed to be for admission to MBBS and BDS courses only.
